About The Hallora Marathon
The Hallora Marathon is a community-focused event, open to participants of all ages. We believe that fitness should be a way of life, not a list of goals to achieve, and that’s why our event is open to everyone - not just athletes or extremely fit individuals. Take a look at our site to find out more about ways to participate and start training today!
This began as a marathon in 2015. This started out inspired by one of my friends, Sarah Porter, who was diagnosed with Leukemia and she went through the absolute wars to get through it. She spent a long time in Peter Mac. Furthermore, my pa passed away after suffering prostate cancer. So I would like to raise money for Peter Mac Cancer research to allow people like Sarah and my pa the optimal treatment, to go on and live awesome lives!
The Hallora marathon is a fun run/walk/bike ride. There are 2 main goals of the marathon. 1 is to raise money for Peter Mac. 2 is to promote physical activity and community engagement.
Beginning at Hallora Recreation Reserve, the run/cycle event will travel into Drouin via main south road and connect to the Drouin end of the two towns trail. The course then travels 3 times between Drouin and Warragul, finishing at the Warragul end of the two towns trail. There are options for distance (5, 8, 16, 24, 42.2km) guided by each time between Warragul and Drouin. The 5km will commence from Warragul and be a 2.5km out and back course. The 8km will start from Warragul and be a 4km out and back course. The 16km will start from Warragul and complete an up and back circuit of the two towns trail. The 24km will start from Hallora and finishes at Western Park in Warragul.
